Salt and Pepper Yin-Yang by RollingFishays Salt and Pepper Yin-Yang by RollingFishays
I felt like doing a spice picture of some sort, but we didn't really have anything besides salt and pepper, so wholla!:)

I've seen a few yin and yang images around DA similar to this but never one with salt and pepper. I can't really say if this has been done before or not but if it hasn't, major props cause this is very clever. I kinda like how you chose to leave the salt and pepper a little messy rather than have it be perfect, I think it helps illustrate better what you were working with. My only real complaint is the background, it looks really grainy and blotchy. I'm not sure it you had the spices on a textured background or it if was from retouching but it's a bit distracting. I think I would've liked it more if the background had been very smooth black to keep the focus on the texture of the spices. But either way, great concept :)

It's probably a mixture between lighting and a little bit of hue/saturation adjustment that was used to make it look a bit warmer that makes it look different :)
